Helping grow our community
Our History
A private citizen and former graduate of Amherst High School had a vision of creating a foundation that would support higher education sought by other AHS graduates and residents of the Tomorrow River School District. As a result, the Tomorrow River Scholarship Foundation was created in 1993 through a generous donation. The original steering committee members of the foundation included: Shirley Allen, Laurie Young, Terry Anderson, Paul Kliegl, Beverly Pede, Butch Pomeroy, Chris Klessig, and Mike Peplinski.
The first scholarships, of which there were four, were presented in 1994. To date, the Foundation has awarded over 1,300 scholarships totaling over one million dollars.
